Torque aims to unseat “OK Google” in Android Wear

Summoning the mighty G from you smart device can be frustrating at times, I mean why do we have to blurt out those two magic words “OK Google” just to ask a question. For once a company not overly known for innovating ideas seem to have found the solution, Microsoft have been working quietly in the background to help eliminate the need to mutter “OK Google” on your Android Wear device and all by simply twisting your wrist.

Torgue is the brainchild of Microsoft Garage, a team of clever people who turn ideas into real life projects, and runs as an app on an Android Wear watch which removes the need to say “Ok Google” when you want to find out what the weather is or where the nearest coffee shop is.

The app works by simply by lifting your arm and twisting your wrist, this movement wakes up Torque and is ready for your command. Now this is a pretty neat idea and its great to be able fire a direct question with out “OK Google” getting in the way but Torque is powered by Microsoft’s Bing search engine and may not be to everyone’s liking !

Torque is available now in the Play Store
