TAO WellShell turns downtime into 'get tone' time

So you’re sitting on the subway and you’ve got another 20 minutes until you get off – what to do? Well, you could catch up on some RSS feeds, social media, or podcasts. Or, you could take a few minutes and get in a solid isometric workout.

TAO WellShell, first introduced at CES 2014, is in the final days of its Kickstarter campaign and it appears like it could get fully funded. What is the TAO WellShell? Only a portable device that allows for more than 50 isometric exercises, a pedometer, and heart rate monitor. Oh, and it pairs to your Android or iOS devices to keep track of your workouts and usage. In other words, it’s exactly what you need to covert downtime in “get tone” time.

Touted as the “world’s first mobile isometric exercise system that turns downtime into exercise time”, the WellShell employs many of the same principles you’ll find in planking, Pilates, Yoga, and other workouts. And, to make it fun, this guy offers gamification, motivation, and coaching.

The TAO will be sold for $99 when it arrives later in the year. In the meanwhile, learn more about the device and its features at Tao Wellness or on Kickstarter.
