The Samsung Gear S has been a source of rumors for months now. Samsung has longed to bring a groundbreaking smartwatch into the market, and so far has not been overly successful. The Gear S hopes to be different by providing a standalone experience from a smartphone, providing talk, text, and internet browsing capabilities without needing to be paired with a smartphone (unfortunately for Samsung, Will.i.am beat them to the punch). A new leak provides details on the type of plan you can expect for this device.
Phandroid got a hold of a leaked document that gives details of plans from Sprint for the Gear S. It looks like Gear S will have two options: a special $10 a month “connected device” plan that gives consumers 1000 minutes, 1000 messages, and 100MB of data, or a $10 add-on to a Family Share Pack plan that shares talk, text, and data with other devices in the plan.
The document notes that while the device is in “Bluetooth Mode”, it will not use the allotted talk, text, and data as all of that will come from the connected smartphone.
