Sony debuts the SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk

Sony have officially announced the third addition to their Smartwatch line up with the simply titled SmartWatch 3 and this time it gets the full Android Wear treatment. Rumour had it that Sony were working on a fully Android Wear powered watch but there was no mention of them being involved with the platform when Google launched it at this years I/O event.

The Smartwatch 3 hopes to pick up from where the smartwatch 2 let us down, the design now has more simplistic look and feel along with some impressive specs such as a 1.2GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor with 512MB of RAM and in-built GPS technology which is a first for any Android powered smartwatch.

Sony are not stopping at a new smartwatch, the company also have another wearable device in the form of the SmartBand Talk. This device has an always-on 1.4” e-paper display and is designed to be used as fitness tracker with Sony’s Lifelog App but will also handle calls from your smartphone with its built-in microphone and speaker.

Both of Sony’s new products will launch later this year, you can read the full press release here for all the info.
