Scosche debuts Rhythm+ heart monitor for wrist

Scosche is excited to announce the availability of RHYTHM+, an armband heart monitor that optically measures blood flow and movement to monitor heart rate and track calories burned more accurately than a conventional chest strap. The dual mode wireless configuration includes both Bluetooth Smart and ANT + capabilities, allowing RHYTHM+ to pair with smartphones, sport watches and exercise equipment (100 ft. range). Scosche’s low-profile monitor integrates with popular fitness apps like Map My Fitness, Runkeeper, Strava and more

RHYTHM+ integrates with virtually any app that supports Bluetooth Smart heart rate data including Map my Fitness, Runkeeper and Strava. This allows customers to add heart rate monitoring to their existing health and fitness tracking plans.

The low-profile monitor is made from a silicone and polycarbonate hybrid and is comfortably fastened to the forearm just below the elbow with a breathable neoprene arm-strap. IP67 waterproof construction protects RHYTHM+ from sweat or rain and allows the monitor to even be submerged up to 1 meter deep. A rechargeable lithium ion battery provides up to 8 hours of workout time.

Scosche plans to compete with LG’s recently launched Lifeband, designed to also record heart rates. You can check it out here at Rhythm+
