Released alongside the LG G Watch, the Samsung Gear Live was one of the first smartwatches to feature Android Wear. Since its release, the Gear Live remains the only Android Wear device to come out of the Samsung factories. Samsung burst onto the smartwatch scene with the Galaxy Gear series, and tried making a spot for themselves by being one of the first with Android Wear.
What set the Gear Live apart from the LG G Watch was the built-in heart rate monitor, which was not included on LG’s first rendition of an Android Wear smartwatch. The Gear Live is no longer available, so if you’re a Samsung fan, but want Android Wear, you’ll have to look elsewhere until Samsung releases a new smartwatch.
