Samsung Gear Fit gets portrait mode in software update

The upcoming Samsung Gear Fit has picked up a much-needed and much-requested feature in a new software update. Now, users can view the wearable device in landscape and/or portrait mode. For all the great stuff that the unit does and how it looks, it’s an awkward experience once on the wrist. Here’s to hoping portrait orientation keeps us from getting Taco Neck Syndrome.

The Gear Fit goes on sale later this week with a $200 price tag through a variety of carriers and retail outlets. If not available out of the box, we should look for an update shortly after.
