Paypal demos app experience for Samsung Gear 2
PayPal this week demonstrated its fingerprint-based authentication tool for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Gear 2 smartwatch.
Using the latest version of the app, and with the S5′s fingerprint sensor on the home button, users can authorize payments and perform other activities. It’s another way of authenticating the user and one that’s not so easily hacked.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the first smartphone to employ FIDO authentication, a standard developed by Google, MasterCard, Microsoft, and Lenovo.
