Original Galaxy Gear to get Tizen update

Do you own an original Galaxy Gear that’s gathering dust or Did you pick one up for the first time in the recent $99 sale on eBay? , well it looks like it could be in line for a new lease of life.

Samsung have announced that the original Gear will be getting the Tizen update to replace the old Android OS, although how or when has not be confirmed. Samsung’s Tizen based platform is currently used in the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo which are the company’s latest smartwatch offerings, wearable devices that are running the Tizen OS should benefit from improved battery life and a greater range of compatible apps due to more developers working on the platform.
