Omate X takes on Pebble Steel with fashionable notification watch
With the one year anniversary of the Omate TrueSmart fast approaching, backers of the Kickstarter project are in for a real treat. Expected September 1, the new Omate X looks to tread all over Pebble’s ground with a fashionable notification watch. Featuring a sleek metallic design with a removable leather strap, the Omate X should carry a very attractive $129 price tag. While it’s not quite the same as an Android-based TrueSmart, this one promises a week-long battery with notifications that likely fall in line with a Pebble Steel.
Reportedly, the Omate X will be officially unveiled in the next day or so and should come with a discount code (LUTETIA) to get early-bird price of merely $99. You’ll have to act fast; the promotion lasts the first five days.
