A few weeks ago, I wrote an article asking what women think of the current generation of smartwatches. While most women thought a smartwatch would be useful, few thought the current designs suited them. Now there is a smartwatch, the Omate Lutetia, that is designed just for the ladies. The Lutetia, the name for ancient Paris, is mainly a notification smartwatch but does feature a pedometer, weather, music control, stopwatch and voice controls. It will work with either Android or iOS and the battery should get you through a solid week.
Omate decided that it would be better to compete with fashion brands, such as Guess and Calvin Klein. They wanted to design something different than what we have seen from the tech companies. It looks like they accomplished their task. The few women I had look at the Omate website before writing had favorable impressions. They did say they would want to see it first hand before purchasing, but generally liked it. The Omate Lutetia will be available in stainless steel, gold and rose gold. You can preorder the watch now for $169 and it should ship around December.
