All good things have to come to an end, right? Or in Nike’s case, it was just the end of the FuelBand program, and a step for Nike out of the hardware market all together.
As part of this, Nike has informed the 70-person strong team that Nike will no longer be making their FuelBand product and of those 70 employees, about 70 to 80 percent were let go.
Nike will now focus on improving their accompanying fitness software, but will still sell the Nike+ FuelBand SE for the foreseeable future.
“The Nike+ FuelBand SE remains an important part of our business. We will continue to improve the Nike+ FuelBand App, launch new METALUXE colors, and we will sell and support the Nike+ FuelBand SE for the foreseeable future,”
Is it sign of a failed product by Nike, or just a failed execution of a good product?
