Microsoft Surface smartwatch on the way, report says
As some of you know there have been reports that Microsoft is working on a smartwatch; recently we saw some leaked designs of what that may be. This time around we have some new information that points towards that fact.
This latest report comes from Andru Edwards, GearLive CEO, who claims to have seen and used a Surface smartwatch in New York. According to Andru the device will have a flat display with a curved underside in order to adapt to wearer’s wrist. The device will feature a similar flat UI Windows Phone-like UI, sport Bluetooth 4.0 LE, a heartrate monitor, gyroscope, accelerometer, GPS and a “galvanic skin response sensor” which could measure certain data when in contact with the skin. He also says that the device will be cross compatible with Windows Phone, iOS, Android, Windows, OS X and Xbox one.
“A number of months ago I took a trip to New York where I came across someone who was testing the upcoming Microsoft wearable device,” says Edwards. “I saw it on their wrist and asked about it. They tried to explain that it was a random fitness wristband ordered from China at first, but eventually (with some prodding) gave me the scoop.”
Would you like to own a Surface smartwatch?
