Microsoft smartwatch design emerges
The smartphone arena is starting to fill up with competitors, and Microsoft does not plan to sit this fight out. While we don’t really know anything about the device right now, it’s safe to assume it’ll be a companion to Windows Phones and possibly Android and iOS. The design is different than what we’ve seen on a smartwatch so far, with the screen blended into the strap of the watch, and we can’t really see any distinct buttons or features that stand out so far, but designs always change.
With the purchase of Nokia Mobility recently, Microsoft will most likely utilize them to help create this watch, so hopefully we can expect some of that Lumia-quality hardware to transition over. If Microsoft does this right, they will bring some really cool compatibility between their smartwatch and the Xbox, giving their Smartglass service a whole new role. I can already imagine using a Microsoft smartwatch as a companion device or second controller when playing Halo 5 😉
If you’re in the market for a smartwatch, would you be willing to wait and see what Microsoft has to offer?
