In a world where screens are getting bigger and bigger so that we can see more information at a glance, there is still room for the more simple things in life.

Meet Ditto, a tiny clip-on device that simply vibrates when your get a notification, or incoming call on your mobile device. That’s right, no buttons, switches, lights, display, or cables.

Started as a  Kickstarter project, currently with 348 backers, and 21 days to go, the Ditto notification device is just about 30% to their $100,000 goal.

So what all do you get for a low $30 price tag?

Basically, you get the device. It doesn’t come with any cables. You’ll get a notification when the battery is low and you simply replace the lithium-ion battery (every 4-6 months).

Features include,

  • Black, white and clear colors
  • Weighs only 8 grams and measures 22 x 37 x 10mm – the size of a thumbprint
  • Personalized vibrating notifications from your chosen contacts
  • Customizable vibrations to identify who the notification is from, or what kind of notification it is – email, text or call
  • Vibration can be used as a silent wake-up alarm
  • Alerts you when you move far away from your phone, so you’ll know if you’ve left it behind
  • Powered by an inexpensive coin cell battery (CR1632 available in drug stores), which lasts for months, automatically sending a notification when it needs to be replaced, removing the hassle of charging, cables and wall chargers
  • Waterproof up to 1 meter making it suitable for use while swimming

Pair the device to your phone using the iOS or Android app, clip it on, and that’s it.
