LG teases the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition

Last night, LG pulled the curtains off their latest smartphone to hit the market, the LG V10. But, that wasn’t the only thing that LG showed off to the world last night.

LG announced the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition. This is obviously the successor to the LG Watch Urbane, which was announced in April of earlier this year, and released in May. It’s a little odd that LG is only taking 6 months to release the next iteration, but there’s good reason behind it.

LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition

Processor 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
Operating System Android Wear
Display 1.38-inch P-OLED Diplay (480×480 at 348ppi)

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is the first Android Wear device to sport 4G LTE connectivity capabilities. This is huge for the Android Wear market due to the fact that there has never been another Android Wear device that can be connected without needing a phone.

Additionally, the battery size and thickness of the LG Watch Urbane 2 are the largest for Android Wear devices on the market. Since the two kind of go hand in hand, it’s expected to see a thicker device when you have a battery that is as large for a watch as what’s in the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition.

More details will be released about when the device will be available, but we can expect to see a US and Korean release before the rest of the world. In the meantime, check out the video above to see what the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is capable of.
