This “smartband” (not quite smartwatch, more than a fitness band) was announced at CES 2014, and even won the People’s Choice Award. It will not only provide notifications, but fitness information, and sleep tracking.
The screen is located on the bottom of the wrist to give privacy, and can provide up to 4 lines of text from an incoming message. Razer is also implementing gestures, such as shaking your wrist to dismiss a notification, and waking the screen when you turn your wrist to look at the device. It also has a technology called “Pulse”, which Razer says will allow one to exchange information with another Nabu, such as emails, Facebook profiles, and even game stats. Razer says that this device is not meant to be another device to distract you from life, but simply complement it by providing features to provide quick access to information.
There has been no indication of a heart rate monitor, however this article suggests that it might. There has also been no official exact release date, however Razer has said it’s aiming for an October release date, and this article says it has a report that this date is October 31. Also, Razer has not given an exact price, but has insisted it will be under $100. For more info, visit the official Nabu site.
