Qualcomm’s (yes, the chipmaker) Toq is a smartwatch that pairs with Android-powered smartphones. Designed as more of a notification system than a fully functioning, standalone smartwatch, it gets better with each incremental update.

The first few software updates added in features such as an activity tracker, microphone for voice input, and stopwatch. An Android app lets users customize the entire experience with choices in clock faces, icons, and which apps or games provide notifications on the wrist.

Because the watch is connected via Bluetooth, it synchronizes with the user’s calendars and appointments, allows for playback control in music apps, and monitors weather.
