Huge firmware update for Pebble ;)

September 18, 2014 will go down in the annals of history, the day the Pebble received emojis!  Firmware update 2.5 will unlock a great deal of functionality for the Pebble smart watch.  Of course at the top of the list is the aforementioned emojis.  Now when someone sends you a message that includes your favorite winky smiley face, you’ll be able to see it right on the screen of your Pebble.

But, that’s not it, the update also gives you iOS 8 compatibility and unlocks the the magnetometer for developers.  This means that those with iOS 8 can better manage their notifications.  When you get an alert on your Pebble, you can dismiss it, which will also clear the message from your Notification Center.  Unlocking the magnetometer will allow your Pebble to function as a compass.  Developers will be able to work the compass and way finding features into future apps.  If you want to read the full release, head over to Pebble’s site to see all the juicy details.
