HTC pushes smartwatch launch to 2015

HTC, in no mood to rush a product to market, has opted to delay releasing its first smartwatch. According to Recode, HTC doesn’t see smartwatches as being so vital yet that they need to get one out just for the sake of having one. With that said, we should not expect to see their first efforts until the new year at the earliest. In other words, HTC wants to take its time (pun intended) and create a compelling product.

“We’ve seen a lot of general purpose wearables come to market. There’s not a strong reason to wear one every day. When we come to market with our product we want to make sure the product has a strong point of view and there is a really compelling reason to strap it on your wrist.”
