The Guess smartwatch, it’s a thing

Everyone seems to be jumping on the wearable bandwagon these days, especially now that Apple announced its line of Apple Watches.

Recently, Guess Watches CEO Cindy Livingston, reached out to Apple CEO Tim Cook to provide some support and encouragement, and to slyly announce the imminent release of the Guess Smartwatch, powered by Martian.

Martian has been dabbling in the wearables space with a line of Notifier watches. The standard time pieces include a small window on the watch face that provides simple notifications and can be linked to both Android and iOS devices. It is likely they will add the ‘smart’ to the Guess Smartwatch.

It will be interesting to see how the Guess smartwatch, powered by Martian (powered by Android) will do in the smartwatch space. At this point, it is still anyone’s game.

In her letter to Tim Cook, Cindy Livingston concludes,

In today’s connected world, consumers deserve the next level of combining fashion and function. We’ve always been much more than a watch. Now, we too are going to take that concept even further. As we look forward to the launch of our own connected timepiece for GUESS… “Powered by MARTIAN”, we’re happy to have another true brand innovator in our industry that confirms the wrist as the dominant place for self-expression.

It’s good to see watch companies showing their support for an up and coming company like Apple.

No word yet on price or release date.
