Groove – The fitness smartwatch re-starts its funding campaign

A few months back we found a clever piece of tech called the Groove smartwatch, this hybrid device combines both fitness band features with smartwatch design and function. Now, the company behind Groove watch have re-launched a funding campaign to help develop and bring the fitness device to market.

Originally up for funding on Indiegogo, the company have refreshed their campaign and is back on the same crowdfunding site to hopefully gain the all important cash to help get this great little device on the wrists of fitness fanatics. The new campaign sees a lot more information and details on the Groove watch, it also highlights the features that make this smartwatch come fitness band stick out from the rest.

Display and touchscreen – 320×240 QVGA, 1.5” color TFT with projected capacitive touch overlay

Battery life and battery capacity – 200 mAh lithium polymer rechargeable battery with up to 5 days on a charge

Connectivity – Texas Instruments CC2564 – dual-mode Bluetooth 4.0 controller – BLE and Bluetooth Classic

Inertial sensor – Analog Devices – 4-range, 3-axis digital accelerometer
