Google Glass given to med students at UC Irvine
While it’s still uncertain if Google Glass will be a mainstream product, it’s clear that it has it’s uses outside of recreational and is being used by medical students at the University of California Irvine. Currently 10 Google Glasses have been given to the third and fourth year students while more will be distributed to the rest of the students later this summer.
Glass will be worn by both the students and the professors so that the professors may beam important information directly to the student’s eye wear. It’s very exciting to see these kind of devices being implemented into professional use every day. This is similar to Microsoft releasing Kinect for Windows, then some hospitals adopted it for doctors to be able to access charts and information without touching anything.
Google Glass is being experimented by a wide variety of professions, including the fine men and women of the NYPD testing Glass for officers to be able to pull up all kinds of information, including locations of distress.
