Google Glass gets more RAM, better battery ahead of Google I/O

Google Glass gets a turbo charged upgrade just in time for Google I/O with the updated device seeing its 1GB of RAM being replaced with 2GB and a bigger battery that will give Glass a 15 percent boost in battery life.

With the amount of Glass wear apps increasing rapidly, the extra 2GB of RAM is a welcome upgrade which will ramp up performance when running these new applications. The larger battery will also see a Glass software update, that was released back in March, come into play and allow the 15 percent increase of battery life.

The new hardware is available to all new enrollees of the Explorer Program including the UK who saw Glass become available for the first time on Monday. If you’re an existing explorer with original hardware then Google is not allowing any free upgrades…sorry folks.
