ATOM promises first wearable power source for smartphones
You own a backup battery or power bank, right? Those things are awesome, get smaller all the time, and really help extend the time we spend with our smartphones. Unfortunately, we don’t always pack them with us. Sometimes it is not convenient to carry them around.
A new concept device, the ATOM, seeks to help rid us of that problem. Designed to be worn around the wrist, the ATOM features a 2100mAh battery bank, Bluetooth 4.0, and LED indicator light. It looks little bit like something you might see Arnold wearing on The Running Man but it’s all in the name of stylish functionality.
In addition to the backup battery supply, the ATOM can be used to track activities, provide vibrating notifications, control music, and locate your smartphone. And, yes, it works just as well for iPhones as well as Android.
Unfortunately, you cannot put the ATOM just yet. In fact, it’s only expected to hit Kickstarter in the near future. With that said, we’ll be watching its development with interest.
