Android Wear Notification screen shots shared by Google developer
We’ve seen the hardware which Google’s Android Wear will run on starting to appear more frequently with manufactures like Moto and LG letting us get a peek of their forthcoming smatwatches but what Android wear will actually look like on these devices is still a relative mystery.
Today we get a chance to catch a glimpse of what we could expect to see embracing Android wear powered watches. Google developer Timothy Jordan has taken to the Android developers G+ page to share some of his favourite wear notifications and they look pretty neat. In his post he also states;
” One of the coolest parts of Android Wear is how it extends the Android platform to a new generation of devices out of the box, without any need to update your app. If you have a notification-enabled app, those notifications will generally just work on your new wearable.”
This should be great news for app developers and wearers alike as it could guarantee Android wear to be a really useful accessory for any Android handset.
On screen notifications of a calendar event, game information and even a worrying alert from a Nest thermostat are some of the examples that have been posted up for View, the images also show how media playback controls would look like on a wearable device.
Most notifications should be quite happy to be displayed on one screen but these screen shots show multiple page icons at the bottom of the screen, so a scrollable notification looks possible. In fact Google have posted a video that highlights how a little bit of extra code can be added to any existing android app to enable this function.
Development on the OS is ramping up and its looking rather impressive, lets hope that hardware and app developers really utilise the power of Android Wear.
