Following on from Acers announcement about its Liquid Leap wearable fitness tracker. More details about the device have emerged which show it to be a companion to their Liquid Jade smartphone allowing you to control music playback, check SMS messages, and view notifications on its 1 inch touchscreen display via a bluetooth 4.0 connection.
As a fitness tracker the Liquid Leap will track steps, measure distances covered, assess your sleep quality and give an estimate of how many calories you’ve burned through the day. And its pretty durable too with its colorful rubber wristbands and IPX7 rating that will hold out immersed for 30 minutes in 1 meter of water, perfect to withstand all that sweat coming its way.
Oh, there is one snag, you’ll have to buy the Liquid Jade smartphone if you want the Liquid Leap as the company have no plans to sell it as a standalone device.
If this is for you then both the Liquid leap tracker and Liquid Jade smartphone will be available in selected markets when it launches this summer – no pricing details confirmed.
